The Korean Giant tries to take over the Bengaluru market by placing solar power charging facility all across the city through which it will be able to introduce and demonstrate its products to people.
According to a statement released by Samsung News on Wednesday, the Korean Giant installed solar power charging facility in front of their Samsung smart café’s in Bengaluru.
The statement further added that the point of putting this free of cost facility outside the cafés was so the people availing this facility can come inside the store and try their other products. As released in the statement this is a ‘first of its kind’ facility launched in India and does not even require a lot of maintenance. This is the first time a service like this has been released in India and Samsung is proud to have taken this initiative in the country.
This service will not only attract the Indian market towards the brand but will also be utilized for product conversions and demonstrations, according to recent Samsung updates. The locations where these solar power charges are placed in India are Total Mall, Sarjapura, Vijaynagar, CMH Road, Sahakaranagar and Malleshwaram. According to the tech company the mobile charging facility will be able to charge at least 20 mobile phones daily with a solar power capacity of 300KW. The company did not reveal their partners who are helping them install these solar powers and when asked about expansion, they said that they have yet to decide whether this was their pilot project or not.
Along with these facilities the company also announced the launch of its Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ big screen smartphones in Bengaluru. This will be the 17th launch of the Korean firm in the Indian market for the year. Asim Warsi, who is the Vice President of IT and marketing of Samsung in India, said that the product will be manufactured at Noida, Samsung’s facility; to reach up to their commitment of putting the label of ‘Made in India’ on its products. The smartphone is priced at $878 (57,900 Indian Rupees). The spokesman said that the product will be available at their Samsung Stores by August 28, 2015. The smartphone will be available in two colors, Gold platinum and silver platinum.
Samsung has been doing business in India for over 20 years now and currently has three research and development units and two facilities for manufacturing in India. According to Asim Warsi, Bengaluru is currently the frontrunner claiming 60 per cent of smartphones in the market and is considered one of the top markets for Samsung products. He added that their research and development department stays up to date with the requirements of the Indian consumer so they are a step ahead of everyone when it comes to providing their customers with the best smartphones according to their requirements.
