Tmall.com is shaking hands with Walt Disney Group for bringing the merchandise of Avengers to China.
Latest Alibaba news is regarding the company beginning a joint venture along with Walt Disney. Tmall.com, a subsidiary of Alibaba, which is also the largest B2C platform-third-party based-for the retailers and brands has partnered with The Walt Disney Company, which is known across the globe, is an entertainment and America’s mass media company.
Chinese e-commerce giant will be the first one to become the exclusive distributor of the company’s Marvel Studio blockbuster for 2015, Avengers: Age of Ultron which is also referred as Avengers 2 via Tmall.com. This has been done for the first time that Chinese e-commerce giant opened up the resources in order to connect the filmmakers and brands for establishing a model which is convenient to develop a merchandise market which is movie-related available for movie fans online.
The announcement was like:
“We are pleased to be working with Disney and brands on Tmall to bring genuine movie merchandise to our online consumers. This marks another effort into further enhancing the collaboration between the participants within our platforms and to also fully utilize the resources we have across Alibaba”
Alibaba news reports that Tmall.com, by leveraging the strong foundation of the Chinese e-commerce giant has partnered with Taobao’s ticketing platform for the collaboration with over 40 quality brands which includes Hasbro, Audi, Lego, Li Ning and etc. for bringing the genuine merchandise of Avengers 2 to the consumers residing in China. The merchandise of super-hero theme has been made available on flagship stores belonging to Disney on Tmall.com. This partnership will be benefiting filmmakers, movie fans and the merchants in order to ensure that huge selection of merchandise is made available to Chinese consumers with the help of marketing projects.
The second part of the Avengers merchandise has topped the box office in U.S. with the second week in a row along with estimated $77.2 million as of Sunday, 10th May. The merchandise related to the movie, including super hero themed t-shirts, cleaning robots, gold pendants and special designed cars are available on Tmall.com.
